On this tour you can enjoy a balanced combination of activities and adventure as well as tranquility and comfort.

Tranz-Alpine-Express and Arthur’s Pass National Park

We board the Tranz Alpine Express in Christchurch and enjoy New Zealand’s arguably most impressive and diverse rail journey. The train takes us through spectacular landscapes from the Pacific through the vast Canterbury Plains into the rugged and wild mountains of Arthur’s Pass National Park.

Cycling through Western-like Landscape (Otago Rail Trail)

We spend a day cycling through Central Otago with its big sky and peculiar cloud formations, and a landscape where browns, golds and reds rule. The Otago Rail Trail follows an old railway line and offers an insight into the region’s gold mining history. Our accommodation is a Bed & Breakfast in the small hamlet of Clyde where we enjoy genuine Kiwi hospitality.

Pristine Coast - Catlins

We take the Southern Scenic Route and explore the wild and rugged Catlins region in the far South. The natural landscapes include an impressive coastline, hidden lakes and stunning waterfalls, and the wildlife is extraordinary. This region is home to fossilized forests, windswept trees, and many dolphins, penguins and seals.

Jet-Boat-Safari - Haast Pass

We go on an adventurous Jet-Boat-Safari in the remote Haast region. Our local guide shares his knowledge of the unique landscape and local history. We enjoy breathtaking nature off the beaten track.

Myths & Legends - Marlborough Sounds Cruise

We cruise through the stunning Marlborough Sounds on our own charter boat, listen to the stories about nature and history as well as Maori myths and legends told by our local guide. In the evening we anchor in a sheltered bay and sleep on board or in a homestay (depending on travel date).

2-Day Walk through ‘Middle Earth’ - Waitomo

We go on a two day walk through the green, rolling hills near Waitomo, explore caves and see fascinating limestone formations. The landscape makes you feel like a Hobbit walking through the Shire. In the evening a myriad of Glowworms put on a spectacular show for us.
